Obesity has become a huge problem in our society. I don’t think a lot of us want to admit that we are obese. I know I don’t. Sometimes (until I look in the mirror) I still feel like I’m “not that big”. Being overweight is becoming more of the norm. “Love me the way I am”, “I’m not changing for anyone”, I’m happy just like I am”. I think these are all lies we tell ourselves to make it okay to keep eating foods we should not eat. Let’s be honest with ourselves. Are you really happy being overweight?
I’m sure being overweight didn’t happen overnight, but you can lose it quickly. Every time I hear that you should only lose 1 to 2 pounds a week, I get discouraged. For the amount of weight I need to lose, that would just take too long. You can lose weight fast by fasting. I’ve done it. I’ve also made mistakes doing it. That’s why I am still obese. I think I am ready to learn from my mistakes and make a permanent lifestyle change.
Why Does Fasting Work Better Than “Regular Diets”?
Regular diets require you to have an abundance of self-control. You have to have it for a long period of time. Even if you stick to it, you usually return to your old eating habits because you feel deprived for such a long time. The nagging desire to eat never goes away.
In my experience with fasting, you lose the desire to eat in a short period of time. You also see faster results that are more motivating for you to continue. Even short fast produce great results. You feel cleaner, lighter, and more energetic. That full and bloated feeling goes away and you move more easily.

How great would it be to weigh yourself every day and see one, two, three or more pounds gone. That’s what happens with fasting. There are exceptions to this, but the average loss is about two pounds a day. The first few days of fasting you typically see larger amounts melt away. There may be days when you don’t see any weight loss. For example, you could lose 3 pounds one day, and then no pounds the next day. Then on the next day you may lose 2 more pounds. The amount of weight you lose is not the same every day. It’s also more rapid at the beginning of the fast than towards the end.
How quickly you lose weight is also determined by the amount of toxicity you have. Smaller people can see results on the same level as larger people if their toxicity levels are high.
Quick Weight Loss – Is It Safe?
It is perfectly safe to lose weight fast by fasting. The only cause for concern is if you have some type of chronic disease. In this situation, it would be best to be under the supervision of a physician. Don’t let that discourage you though. It is still the safest and fastest way to lose weight in my opinion. I caution you to do your on research. Don’t try to jump in head first committing to a long fast of more than 3 days without any experience or knowledge on the subject. I have done a lot of fast. Mostly on my own with no direction from a physician. I’ve fasted for 20 days with only 20 to 40 pounds to lose. I’ve also fasted for 20 days with 100 pounds to lose. My experiences weren’t much different other than the fact that the more weight I needed to lose the faster I lost it.
Have you ever gone longer than “normal” without eating and experienced a headache or some other discomfort? Some people look at these as a sign that you need to eat. The truth is it’s a sign that you should continue fasting. Not all people who choose to fast experience this discomfort, but if you do just try to take it easy until the discomfort goes away. You will see immediate results. It’s so easy. All you have to do is endure a little discomfort in the beginning. Fight those cravings. After a few days, you will desire the healthy foods that God intended you to eat. You will be amazed at how great you feel and how much your mind set changes.
