Lose Weight Fast By Fasting – It Works!

represent obesityObesity has become a huge problem in our society. I don’t think a lot of us want to admit that we are obese. I know I don’t. Sometimes (until I look in the mirror) I still feel like I’m “not that big”. Being overweight is becoming more of the norm. “Love me the way I am”, “I’m not changing for anyone”, I’m happy just like I am”. I think these are all lies we tell ourselves to make it okay to keep eating foods we should not eat. Let’s be honest with ourselves. Are you really happy being overweight?

I’m sure being overweight didn’t happen overnight, but you can lose it quickly. Every time I hear that you should only lose 1 to 2 pounds a week, I get discouraged. For the amount of weight I need to lose, that would just take too long. You can lose weight fast by fasting. I’ve done it. I’ve also made mistakes doing it. That’s why I am still obese. I think I am ready to learn from my mistakes and make a permanent lifestyle change.

Why Does Fasting Work Better Than “Regular Diets”?

Regular diets require you to have an abundance of self-control. You have to have it for a long period of time. Even if you stick to it, you usually return to your old eating habits because you feel deprived for such a long time. The nagging desire to eat never goes away.

In my experience with fasting, you lose the desire to eat in a short period of time. You also see faster results that are more motivating for you to continue. Even short fast produce great results. You feel cleaner, lighter, and more energetic. That full and bloated feeling goes away and you move more easily.

Watch The Pounds Melt Away Quickly

Losing poundsHow great would it be to weigh yourself every day and see one, two, three or more pounds gone. That’s what happens with fasting. There are exceptions to this, but the average loss is about two pounds a day. The first few days of fasting you typically see larger amounts melt away. There may be days when you don’t see any weight loss. For example, you could lose 3 pounds one day, and then no pounds the next day. Then on the next day you may lose 2 more pounds. The amount of weight you lose is not the same every day. It’s also more rapid at the beginning of the fast than towards the end.

How quickly you lose weight is also determined by the amount of toxicity you have. Smaller people can see results on the same level as larger people if their toxicity levels are high.

Quick Weight Loss – Is It Safe?

It is perfectly safe to lose weight fast by fasting. The only cause for concern is if you have some type of chronic disease. In this situation, it would be best to be under the supervision of a physician. Don’t let that discourage you though. It is still the safest and fastest way to lose weight in my opinion. I caution you to do your on research. Don’t try to jump in head first committing to a long fast of more than 3 days without any experience or knowledge on the subject. I have done a lot of fast. Mostly on my own with no direction from a physician. I’ve fasted for 20 days with only 20 to 40 pounds to lose. I’ve also fasted for 20 days with 100 pounds to lose. My experiences weren’t much different other than the fact that the more weight I needed to lose the faster I lost it.

“Withdrawal Symptoms”

Have you ever gone longer than “normal” without eating and experienced a headache or some other discomfort? Some people look at these as a sign that you need to eat. The truth is it’s a sign that you should continue fasting. Not all people who choose to fast experience this discomfort, but if you do just try to take it easy until the discomfort goes away. It almost always does. Some other discomforts you could experience are…

  • White coating on tongue
  • Stinky breath
  • Pasty feeling on teeth
  • Weakness
  • Fast heart beat
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

This list is by no means exhaustive. Just know that it is not likely that you will experience any of these things.

What Are You Waiting For?

A better more productive life is just a skipped meal away…LOL! Okay, maybe not that quickly, but it’s definitely days away. Fasting is the easiest way to lose weight fast. Fight To Lose WeightYou will see immediate results. It’s so easy. All you have to do is endure a little discomfort in the beginning. Fight those cravings. After a few days, you will desire the healthy foods that God intended you to eat. You will be amazed at how great you feel and how much your mind set changes. Fasting is the easiest thing you can do to lose weight fast.

Healthiest Water To Drink – Good Water Can change Your Life!

healthiest-water-to-drinkYou can’t talk about fasting or beginning a journey to live a healthier lifestyle without discussing water.  Water is one of the most essential things a person needs to survive.  Everyone probably already knows that your body is made up of mostly water.  We can go weeks without food, but we can only go a few days without water.  Since water is so important, don’t you think we should find out what kind of water is the healthiest water to drink?  If you think all water is the same, you better think again.  As in everything else in this world, we have been lied too in the interest of making money.  All water is not the same.  In all my experience with fasting and juicing, I always thought that distilled water was the healthiest water to drink.  That is completely wrong. I hope I can help you understand a little more about the importance of drinking water and what type of water to drink when fasting or just in everyday life.

Different Types of Drinking Water

There are several different types of drinking water.  The most popular it seems is bottled water.  There is bottled drinking water, bottled purified water, bottled spring water, bottled artesian water, bottled alkaline water, bottled mineral water and blah, blah, blah…LOL!  I’m sorry, I got a little annoyed by my own list.  I digress, there is also reverse osmosis, deionized water, and distilled water.  You can also pick up 5 gallon containers of water.  5-gallon-healthiest-water-to-drinkIts usually purified water.  You can even take your own empty containers to places and fill them yourselves.  These placed usually offer reverse osmosis, deionized, or high ph water.  Let’s not forget the cheapest of all, tap water and well water. What is the healthiest water to drink out of all these choices? Well keep reading and hopefully I will, “some what”, answer your question.

Bottled Water

First of all, lets just address the issue of the plastic.  It’s bad.  We’ve all heard how the chemicals from the plastic seep into your water when it’s bottled that way.  How much depends on how long the water has been sitting in the bottle.  Well, human beings are not perfect.  We can only do the best that we can do.  My advice to you is to pray over your food, including bottled water.Spring-water-healthiest-water-to-drink  Our God is perfect and he will be merciful to us if He sees we are trying to do the best we can.  if you can afford water bottled in glass then, by all means go for it.  That being said, the best water to drink is water that has minerals and trace elements in it.  Water was meant to be consumed that way.  It should have flowed over and through rocks to pick up minerals and ions and things like that.  Spring water or any water similar to that is the healthiest water to drink.  If you are able to consume water from a natural spring that you can bottle your self that would be awesome.  Most of us can’t do this.  Your local spring water is your best affordable option.  Even spring water from the “dollar store” would work fine.

Reverse Osmosis, Deionized, and Distilled

Reverse Osmosis water uses a process that removes the bad contaminates as well as a lot of the good minerals that should be in the water.  When you  see labels like “purified’ water or even “drinking” water, it was probably processed in this manner.  If you drink this kind of water I would recommend adding some trace minerals back into the water.  This can be accomplished by adding a little bit of freshly squeezed lemon water into it or some Appalachian pink salt.  A lot of times you can get this water from stores for less than a dollar a gallon, so it is a cheaper alternative although you should go the extra step to add the trace minerals back in.  Also, if you are concerned about the environment, this method would also keep all those plastic water bottles out of the land fills.  Deionized, or distilled water is dead water.  There is nothing in it.  I would not recommend drinking this type of water unless you are using it for tea or broth.  Our bodies need minerals found in natural spring water.  A lot of times, if you don’t have a desire to drink a lot of water, it’s because the water you are drinking is depleting your mineral stores.  That’s what this type of water does.  Your body will naturally not desire this kind of water.  The more good water you drink, the more your body will want.

Tap Water and Well Water

tap-water-healthiest-water-to-drinkTap water is probably one of the worse sources of water you could drink.  There are all types of horrible chemicals in it.  The city uses the chemicals to clean the water.  This makes it safe for washing clothes, cleaning your dishes, washing your car, etc.  These chemicals are not safe for us to drink. Well water could be a great source of water if you are sure you know what’s in it.  Wells tap into water that flows underground, which falls in line with drinking water with good minerals and trace elements in it.  The problem is, that it could also be contaminated from chemicals and pesticides that have seeped into the ground from poor human choices.  I would recommend getting your well water tested so you can be confident that it only has the good stuff in it.

All Water Is Not the Same

The right kind of water is good for you.  Your body needs it.  The fact that you can live for a long period of time only drinking water is proof.  It’s important for your health to drink it.  If you can’t afford or if you don’t have access to spring water, then do the best that you can.  All water has its benefits no matter where it comes from.  In my research I have found so many discrepancies on what is the best way to consume it.  When you find discrepancies as this, look to the Being that created it.  Look at the many miracles performed surrounding water.  Human beings can’t take what was made for us by a Higher Power and make it better.  It’s already perfect.  Drink water that is as close in form to the way it was originally intended to be consumed.

Fasting To Lose Weight – Journey To Change

I am embarking on a journey that is long over due. I’m sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! I have been overweight for almost 14 years now. I can’t take it anymore!. I am fasting to lose weight. Originally, I planned to embark on a long fast.  I was very determined to only drink water until I lost every bit of my weight.   I have since decided not to do it that way.  Instead I will do several 14 day fast until I have reached my goal.  For all you nay sayers…keep it movin’. This might not be for you.  Believe it or not, it is very safe to fast. Now, I’m not a doctor. I am only saying this from experience. I have completed water fasts that have lasted up to 19 days. I know that contradicts what I said above about the 14 days, but when I did the 19 day fast, I was much younger, thinner, and healthier.  I have done the Master Cleanse for much longer (more on this later). There are certain things you should or shouldn’t do that will make the experience more pleasant, but overall you can continue with your day to day with very little change. Interested? Keep reading and I will tell you my plan based on what I have learned and experienced.

Preparing For The Water Fast?

I have read several books about fasting. I’ll include a list somewhere if you would like to check it out. They all say you should prepare for a water fast by eating very healthy for weeks leading up to the water fast. You wanna know what I ate today? Vanilla Ice Cream, brownies, Doritos, Wendy’s, eating-pizza-before-a- fastVienna Sandwich Cookies, Buttered bread with Jelly, and Blackberry Ginger ale. LOL… I know… I need this change right! I have never prepared for a water cleanse by eating healthy before it began. That’s probably why I always put the weight back on. I do think there is a lot validity in developing healthier habits before you begin. Let’s be honest. Most of the time you gain the weight back because you don’t make permanent changes. If you continue to eat the same foods that got you in trouble in the first place, you WILL gain the weight back. The only thing you need to conduct this fast is water.  if you have your own natural spring, you don’t even have to purchase that.  However, if you are like most of us that have city or well water, it would be best for you to purchase spring water to drink because it has minerals that your body needs.  Distilled water is dead water, so it will help with the cleanse, but it will also drain your body of the all important minerals you need.  Filtered water removes the good and bad stuff, so its not a great water source either.  We will talk more about water later.

What Is My Plan?

I like to begin fasting to lose weight at sunset. I mean this is the beginning of a new day according to the Holy Bible. Usually I will try to stop eating an hour or so before. Truth be told. This time, I stopped eating right at sunset. Just begin at that time you think you will be most mentally prepared to begin.  I like to weigh myself at this point. I really want to limit weighing myself to once a week instead of everyday. This journey is about losing weight, but I want to focus more on how my clothes fit and how I feel than on the pounds. Then drink water for the rest of the day. Drink as much as you want. From my experience when your body is ready to get rid of something it will.  There is no need for herbal tea laxatives or enemas.

Exercise… Yes, I will!

There is no way we can talk about losing weight without including exercise. Ugh…I know. You were probably hoping I would leave this out. Don’t worry, it’s not some ridiculous, outrageous suggestion. Exercise does profit a little. walking-for-healthYou don’t have to do a lot. You could do a 30-minute walk, or you could go hard on the cardio if you would like. It’s really about what you feel up to doing. I would stick to cardio though. I wouldn’t do much muscle building while fasting. If you have a lot of weight to lose, exercise will help reduce any problem that could develop with lose skin. Don’t force yourself though. There will probably be days especially in the beginning where you may not feel like it because of the detox symptoms. Don’t worry. The symptoms will lessen and you will experience an increase in energy (most of the time) during the fast. I will say this, exercise is an important part of having good health. You should try to make it a habit.

Breaking The Water Fast

I believe it is okay to break your fast on anything that God intended to be for food. I say that because there are lots of things out there to eat that should not be consumed by any person or animal. Avoid anything processed or that includes chemicals that you can’t pronounce.breaking-the-fast Stick to something simple. This is a good time to learn if anything you eat causes your body to react a certain way. In my experience, it’s not so much about what you eat as it is about how much you eat. You have to be careful not to over do it. I broke a fast to quickly one time and had the worse heart burn I have ever had in my life. I thought I was going to die of a heart attack. For real…listen to what I am saying. I had never had heart burn before, so I had no idea how painful it can be. I was praying and asking God to forgive me for being a glutton. I was scared! In my opinion, this is the hardest part of the process. It is very important at this point to resist the temptation to go back to your old ways that led you to the need for this fast in the first place.

We Are Going On A Trip

This is just the beginning of a journey I hope you will take with me. I chose fasting to lose weight because I want a fresh start. What better way to begin lifestyle changes than by cleansing your body and working towards good health so you can truly enjoy the journey. Fasting not only cleans your body, but more importantly it helps to clean your mind. I hope this helps to simplify your life. My life has gotten to complicated and cluttered. Please check out my daily journal for more details about my fast. This is just one journey of many that we can take together.

About Jennifer

Welcome to Journey4Eternity! This has been a dream of mine for years. I am a single mom with 3 beautiful daughters. They changed my life. I have always wanted to be a mom, but not a single mom. However, being a single mom ignited this dream.

I have never been the kind of mom who could really leave her children. I tried placing my girls in daycare. I also allowed family to watch them. I used to work in the corporate world. The money was good, but I always felt pulled in two different directions.

I had to learn some very hard lessons, and I have learned a lot. I always wanted to be married also. When I was growing up if someone asked me “what do you want to be when you grow up”, my answer was always a wife and a mother. Well, I didn’t make the best decisions when it came to relationships, but I ended up with three beautiful girls that really gave me a desire to live a better life.

I hope to share the things I have learned with you and maybe help you make some much-needed changes. I am also hoping we can grow together and reach our full potential.

I’ve struggled with many things in my life. Probably one of my biggest struggles has been my weight. When I was young, I was chubby. I actually lost weight around my teenage years, but it was always a struggle. I was always on a diet. My first diet was the “Campbell Soup” diet. I can thank my sister for that one.

During my college career, I was what we like to call “thick”, but I wasn’t really overweight. I actually didn’t start putting the weight on until after I had my first child. I was around 30 years old.

For the last 12 years I have added the pounds. Now I stay between 220 and 230 pounds. I am miserable at this weight. I just don’t feel good. I am ready to make some changes.

Weight is not the only thing I hope to change. My role as a mother and a woman is very important to me. It’s the role our Creator gave me and I truly desire to fulfill that role in the way God intended me too. I hope that this website will give me the opportunity to focus more of my energy on being a mom, becoming more organized, and growing in the character God is developing in me.

Usually, people develop a website already knowing what they want to teach and in most cases already reaching their goals. I’m hoping you will find my journey and struggle helpful. One thing I had a hard time doing was learning from others’ mistakes. I was hard-headed and had to learn the hard way.

I hope that you will see that its never too late to make changes. I plan to share my journey with you. Letting you in on the mistakes that I made and hopefully encouraging you to never give up on whatever goals you may set for yourself.

My goal is to live and to reach my full potential. This website will not be perfect by any means, but I do pray that it will be useful to someone.

Expect to be inspired!
